Kohl's Cares for Kids - National Schoarship WINNER Sara with Lisa Jacoby and Michael Van den Thoorn at Kohl's
I have some very exciting news. In a previous email update I told everyone that I won one of the 1800, Kohl’s Cares for Kids Scholarship on the store level and they will be making posters of me for my local Kohl’s store for all of my fund raising activities.
Well, I was informed early in July that I had won the Regional scholarship from Kohl’s as well. Kohl’s has recognized my efforts, along with 189 other children and teens (nation wide) by awarded each of us with a $1000.00 scholarship.
The 190 children and teens that received this award from Kohl’s for making efforts to help others in their communities and around the world were considered for one of ten $5000.00 scholarships, plus an additional $1000.00 donated to each of their charities.
On July 29, I received a package from Kohl’s Department Stores awarding me with one of the ten $5000.00 Scholarships. I will be donating the $1000.00 from Kohl’s to The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York. Please take a look at what some of the other amazing kids and teens have done by clicking HERE!

The Book Currently being written is my biography. I was contacted by a local author, Chris Passudetti, who works with Scobre Press. Scobre is starting a new series of books on children/young adults that do extraordinary things, and they would like my story to be the first book in this new series. The book was scheduled to be available in September 2008.
The story will include my passion for acting and what I have done to help break the stigmas that surround epilepsy.
Already, I have had several interviews with Chris. He is really cool! He also offered to let me write the jacket for the book. I have seen the ruff outline and it really looks good. The book has a working title right now... "It Is Not Who I am - The Sara Elizabeth Story". Wow, doesn't that sound familiar???
May 29,2008. I recieved a note from the author, Chris Passudetti, with some very disappointing news on the book front. Per Chris, it looks like the release date of the book is going to be pushed back. it looks like with the economic times as they are, school districts are not purchasing new books as they have in recent years, causing this delay. Chris also said that he wants me to know that his commitment to the project is strong and that any delay will only mean that he will put together a better book. As more details become available I will share more with you.
